VW/AUDI 1.8T 20v
The VW / Audi 1.8T (20 valve) is a turbocharged, gas powered engine featuring dual overhead camshafts and 5 valves per cylinder (3 intakes and 2 exhausts). This 5 valve design allows the cylinder to fill with fuel and air quickly during the intake stroke and purge the exhaust stroke thereby increasing efficiency. Powered by a BorgWarner K03 series turbocharger and multi-port electronic fuel injection. Since it is a hot-running turbocharged engine, the block was made from cast iron to handle heat and pressure. Stock HP figures are in the 161HP range at 5700 rpm with max torque at 166LB-FT at 1950-4700 rpm.
